Are your students in conflict?

Times are complex, issues are heated, identities are dearly held. There is much at stake. As administrators, it is easy to find ourselves looking around for help—who knows what to do now? There is no instruction manual for the combustable campus conflict. But there are opportunities and there is a loving way through.

Marsh & Partners are here to help.

Our Approach

At Marsh and Partners, we apply contemporary physiology as well as our experience in higher education administration and expertise in group process to foster student growth by facilitating conversation through conflicts: simply put, we use body, mind, heart, and breath to bridge differences.

Our Services

In addition to M&Ps Breath in Conflict workshop, we offer comprehensive consultation services and on-site group process facilitation. We work with administrators and groups of faculty who are concerned about current campus issues as well as directly with student groups.

Why Physiology?

What do physiology and neurobiology have to do with human conflict? That is a VERY important question and gets to the heart—and heat—of what is going on during conflict: fear. Find out more about why it is vital that students understand their own bodies in order to understand their belonging.

“Most of our conscious brain is dedicated to focusing on the outside world: getting along with others and making plans for the future. However, that does not help us manage ourselves. Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going on inside ourselves.”

— Bessel Van der Kolk
